Sponsorships

Introduction

In the world of sports, athletes and timekeepers do share a lot in common. That is why Citizen has played a major role in sponsoring some of the world's most prestigious events and tracking outstanding performances around the globe.

US Open Tennis Championships

Citizen is proud to have been the Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the US Open since 1993.
Every year, the first two weeks in September are reserved for the US Open Tennis Championships.
This is the season-ending Grand Slam event in men's and women's professional tennis; it is the highest profile tennis tournament of the year.
With clocks tracking match time and stadium scoreboards to display match results, Citizen plays an integral role every year at the US Open Tennis Championships. Citizen match time displays have recorded the match time at some of the longest Grand Slam matches in history.

World Figure Skating

Citizen is proud to have been the official sponsor of international figure skating since1982, and continues as a sponsor of the following events for 2011-2012 season.
Citizen's product policy is “The Fusion of Technology and Beauty” , pursuing innovative technologies and beauty in design in the watchmaking. Based on “technology,” expressed as “beauty,” it is comparable to the world of figure skating.
For the sake of a limited few minutes at each championship, skaters train every day and move the audience with their performances with ultimate beauty and precision. Citizen supports the skaters and figure skating championships.
